Litchi Gardens
Muzaffarpur is one of the topmost regions in the production of Lychee and is therefore famous for its lychee gardens. The district of Muzaffarpur produces around 3 lakh tonnes of Lychee every year. One can feast their taste buds with some delicious garden-fresh Lychees here in May & June which is the flourishing season of this fruit. These are the months when the Lychees are ripe and acquire a perfect taste. The most visited regions among the tourists are the Mushahari, Jhapaha and the Bochaha Gardens. It is commended to visit the gardens during the cultivation in May & June as the cultivation period has a festive vibe in the lychee gardens of Muzaffarpur.
Baba Garibnath Temple
One of the famed places of Muzaffarpur is the Baba Garibnath Temple which resides in the heart of the city. The temple is an abode to the Shivling of Lord Shiva as Baba Gareebnath. Legend says that the Shivaling was acquired from the Peepal Tree where the temple now resides. The man who cut down the tree eyewitnessed blood oozing out of the tree, revealing the Shivling which compelled him to build the temple that now has been attracting a large number of devotees like a magnet. Baba Gareebnath Temple is crowded during the holy month of Shravan during which lord shiva is worshipped.
Jubba Sahni Park
Jubba Sahni Park is a park full of lush green flora apt for children to play around and others to relieve in peace within nature. The Park got its name after the freedom fighter Jubba Sahni as a tribute. A famous park that is a tribute to a revolutionary and freedom fighter, Jubba Sahni is a pride of this city. A large crowd gathers in this garden on the New Year’s Eve and welcomes it with great enthusiasm. It is a favorite hangout place among the locals and tourists equally. With benches outfitted around the park, it is a perfect hotspot to ease your mind far from the chaos of the city and feel peace amidst nature.
Khudiram Bose Memorial
A memorial raised as a tribute to an 18 yr old Freedom Fighter Khudiram Bose, this historical location is visited by several tourists who are enthralled by the saga of the young fighter who was sent to martyrdom by the Britishers. It sits opposite the present residence of the district and the session judge. Khudiram bose was executed along with Prafool Chaki in the year 1908 for threw a bomb at Kingsford who was at that time the British session judge of Muzaffarpur. This memorial finds itself surrounded by various tourists who wish to know about the escaped revolutionary who was hanged later.
Ramchandra Shahi Museum
Ramchandra Shahi Museum is an ideal hotspot for all the history buffs. The Museum was established in 1979 in the vicinity of Jubba Sahni Park and is an abode to ancient utensils, artifacts, rare postage stamps, and intricate statues like the Ashtadikpal and Manasa Nag. Each article is an attraction to the visitors in itself. One can carry a camera to capture the photos of these rare and ancient artifacts and can fulfill their appetite at the snack shops outside. The intricately created statues are a divine sight to behold in your heart and eyes and also in your camera.
Ramana’s Tripur Sundari Temple (Devi Mandir)
This is an important religious site of the city situated at Ramna. A wealthy man, Shri Umashankar Prasad alias Bachha babu, great pujari of Mata Durga, made this beautiful and divine temple on 28th June 1941. Its aesthetic beauty and richness attract millions of Devotees. It is said that it is astounding to see that a man-made temple attracts such a big gathering of Devotees. This temple is also famous by “Devi Temple,” and Ma’s beautiful idol mesmerizes one and all. In every Navratra, there is great puja organized by the city people, which is a clear proof of unity and faith.
